How to get the green tick on your WhatsApp Business number

The green badge is the thing everyone asks about and the thing least within your control. It is worth knowing what it is, what it is not, and what you can influence instead.

Two different things called verification

Business verification is Meta checking your company documents. Every business on the Platform goes through it, and it is a requirement rather than a status.

The green badge is separate. It marks an account Meta considers notable, and it is not something you buy or unlock by completing a checklist. Plenty of legitimate, well-run businesses operate on the Platform without one.

What you can influence

Your display name appears at the top of the conversation whether or not you have a badge, and consistency there does most of the trust-building work. If your customers see the same business name in the chat as on your receipts, your signage and your invoices, that is the signal that matters day to day.

Having a real presence outside WhatsApp helps: a website on your own domain, consistent naming, and coverage that is not written by you.

The mistake worth avoiding

Some automation vendors put their own brand in the customer-facing name, or answer with a bot persona that is not your business. That trades your credibility for theirs.

Kairos never appears in your conversations. Customers see your verified business name, and the assistant speaks as your business, because it is your business they are dealing with.

This guide describes Meta's own rules, which change and differ by country. Check Meta's current documentation before relying on any specific figure or timeline.
